FAQs

A Day Made Better is a national programme that rewards and recognises exceptional primary and secondary school teachers that go the extra mile for their students.

We understand that exceptional teachers do more than just teach. They go above and beyond. They work hard to inspire. To motivate. And to create environments where students are empowered to learn. It’s for this reason that A Day Made Better by OfficeMax was created.

Last year alone, over 23,000 nominations and messages of support were received across the country. And in 2016, A Day Made Better is set to be bigger and better than ever.

We invite parents, students, fellow staff members, or anyone who has simply known an exceptional teacher to show their appreciation by giving them the recognition they deserve.

Anyone who has ever known an exceptional teacher is encouraged to show their appreciation and nominate. Teachers can be nominated by colleagues and school representatives as well as parents and past and present students.

Entry is open to all teachers currently employed in an Australian primary or secondary school.

We’d love to include early childhood teachers in the A Day Made Better Programme and we are busy working on a plan to extend this programme to include the amazing work they do too.

In 2015 we expanded the programme from primary schools to include secondary school teachers as well. As the programme continues to grow we’d love to expand it to include all teachers across the board – keep your eyes out for more news.

Nominations open Monday 15th May and close Friday 23rd June.

Once submitted, all nominations will be displayed on www.adaymadebetter.com.au for the duration of the programme.

After the nomination period closes, all nominations will be reviewed by our judging panel who will work to select the most deserving teachers as our ten winners.

Once the winners have been selected, the Principal from the winner’s schools will be notified from the 18th of July.

Surprise celebrations will be run for each winner from the 27th of July.
